Biography

An avid wine professional, wine writer and judge; well-traveled to over 50 countries, lived twice in Italy - a combined time of over 6 years has learned firsthand about viticulture, winemaking and the wine trade. Currently active as consultant to local winemakers, while tasked to author his first book. Carl brings enthusiasm and passion to others whether at private tasting or bigger wine tasting events. Regularly meets with wine critics including James Suckling, and various winemakers from around the world. Completed his Sommelier via the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) and Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Certified Level 3. Carl occasionally hosts wine tasting events to bring about awareness of popular wines on the market by means of themed-events, including Holiday-themed wine tasting events for Thanksgiving and Christmas in the local Southern Maryland area.
